Danny Murillo is the Program Analyst at the Campaign for College Opportunity. He supports the Campaign’s efforts to increase awareness for the unique challenges facing currently and formerly incarcerated students in California’s public higher education system. Danny is the co-founder of the Underground ScholarsInitiative at the University of California, Berkeley. He was a Program Analyst at Vera Institute of Justice, a Completion Counselor with the New Jersey Scholarship and Transformative Education Consortium (NJ-STEP) at Rutgers University and most recently, the Research and Program Analyst at Corrections to College. He is the recipient of the UC Berkeley John W. Gardner Fellowship for Public Service, the Open Society Foundation Soros Justice Advocacy Fellowship and Just Leadership USA Leading with Conviction. Danny has appeared in GQ Magazine, NationalPublic Radio (NPR), The Appeal Podcast, The New York Magazine, Univision and 60 Minutes with Oprah.
