The Alliance for Higher Education in Prison is expanding the Higher Education in Prison Reading Project. Since the early months of 2019, the Alliance has invited members of the higher education in prison community to read along, using weekly sessions on social media and “book giveaways” to support participation. We are now expanding the project and hope to bring even more participants and programs into this reading community.

The Alliance is currently supporting 20 programs participating in the Higher Education in Prison Reading Project and will be sending over 100 copies of our upcoming book selection, Freedom is a Constant Struggle: Ferguson, Palestine, and the Foundations of a Movement  By: Angela Y. Davis, throughout the country.

Update: The Higher Education in Prison Reading Project has been delayed due to backorders of our July & August books selection: Freedom is a Constant Struggle: Ferguson, Palestine, and the Foundations of a Movement by Angela Y. Davis. We are working to ensure that books are sent to all participants in the week of July 13th and the Alliance plans to begin our #HEPReadingProject Twitter Discussions on July 20, 2020 at 9amPT/12pmET -- and continuing each Tuesday.
