The Othering & Belonging Conferences are dynamic and uniquely-curated gatherings that advance scholarship, narratives, movements, policies, and practices that support a more fully inclusive “we.”

We have brought together thousands of advocates, scholars, artists, youth leaders, philanthropists, and community members to share cutting-edge ideas, illuminate powerful stories, utilize the power of arts and culture, and embody Beloved Community— all to build more fair and inclusive societies.

Our programming—from highly interactive breakout sessions to mainstage speakers to art exhibits to facilitated networking sessions—is designed to create meaningful conversations and connections among people from a wide variety of sectors, geographies, and identities, in order to create a multi-day gathering that we hope will be, in the words of one past conference attendee, “one of the most inspiring events I've ever participated in, professionally and personally.”

Across our conferences we center bridging as a response to fracturing and elevate the need for more complex and nuanced stories that reflect our true multi-layered identities.  Most of all, our conferences  infuse joy and imagination throughout.

The 2024 Othering & Belonging Conference is a two-and-a-half-day event that will take place April 25-27, 2024. The theme of the conference is Belonging Without Othering. Attendees should plan on the following conference hours:

Thursday, April 25: 1:00 pm doors open - Marquis opening keynote and cultural event
Friday, April 26: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Saturday, April 27: 9:00 am to 4:30 pm
