The Alliance for Higher Education in Prison is supported by a growing team of staff and volunteers dedicated to our mission to expand access to quality, free higher education in prison and to work in solidarity with others at the intersection of higher education, mass incarceration, and prison abolition.

The Alliance is committed to embedding diversity, equity and inclusion in our network and within our team. As a relatively new organization, we are striving to do this in a variety of ways, including but not limited to: Increasing educational access for all students, including people who have historically been excluded from such opportunities; challenging the existing equity gaps and systemic barriers in educational access based on race/ethnicity and/or class status; and working to ensuring that our team, at every level, includes people directly impacted by incarceration.

We are not currently accepting applications for our Board of Directors, but expect to reopen this process in the future. Updates will be shared here.
