Equity Beyond Access After Pell Grant Implementation

Ed Trust, in partnership with peer organizations, the Alliance for Higher Education in Prison, JAMII Sisterhood, Operation Restoration, Prison Cells to Ph.D., and the Vera Institute of Justice will host three Racial Equity Professional Institutes in July 2021, September 2021, and February 2022.

Each institute will delve into racial equity issues faced by incarcerated and formerly incarcerated students. The institutes will help emerging leaders in the field improve learning for systems-impacted populations on campus and in prison and equip higher education leaders with first-hand knowledge and insight from the field.

Institutional leaders, faculty members, and program administrators are invited to attend and explore a variety of topics including equity in enrollment for justice-impacted students, equity in completion for justice-impacted students, faculty/staff diversity, culturally responsive pedagogy, and others. The first institute will address equity considerations in Pell restoration implementation. Participants will also have the opportunity to engage and learn with expert scholars, practitioners, and systems-impacted individuals.

Ed Trust, in partnership with Operation Restoration, Prison Cells to Ph.D., and the Vera Institute of Justice will host a Racial Equity Professional Institute under the title "Equity Beyond Access After Pell Grant Implementation".
