Community Conversations

The Alliance for Higher Education in Prison builds community. It shares perspectives. It creates spaces for dialogue and fosters relationships in the field. It invites open communication on hard topics.

Community Conversations are a space to share information and resources, experiences and lessons learned and engage ideas that will advance the field of higher education in prison. The discussions are open to anyone. Recent topics have included: crisis communication planning, fundraising, the role of a higher education in prison program, abolition and higher education in prison and a series of wellness sessions. To propose a Community Conversation topic, please complete this survey: Community Conversation Idea or Proposal.
Community Conversation topics, dates and times are shared in the Alliance's Newsletter (Newsletter Sign-up), on social media (@AllianceforHEP), the Prison_Ed Listserv (Join the Listserv) and on the Alliance's Community Events Calendar.
Note: In an effort to all participants to speak as freely as possible, Community Conversations are not recorded, but notes are taken.
