Georgetown University: Assistant Teaching Professor in Interdisciplinary Social Science, Prisons and Justice Initiative

The Georgetown University Prisons and Justice Initiative (PJI) invites applications for a full-time non-tenure line (FTNTL) faculty position as Assistant Teaching Professor in Interdisciplinary Social Science. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in the Bachelor of Liberal Arts (BLA) degree program offered to incarcerated students at the Patuxent Institution, a prison in Jessup, Maryland. In addition to teaching, the candidate selected for this position will also be responsible for (1) the development and oversight of the BLA social sciences curriculum and (2) direction of the BLA major in Interdisciplinary Social Science, including both course planning/coordination with main campus departments and programs and student advising and mentorship. We welcome applications from candidates with a PhD and teaching and research interests in any social science discipline or related interdisciplinary field. Demonstrated excellence in teaching and commitment to innovative and inclusive pedagogy are a must, as is the ability to teach both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
