North Carolina Prison Education Consortium: Executive Director

The North Carolina Prison Education Consortium (NCPEC) is a statewide network that brings together colleges, universities, and partner organizations to strengthen, align, and expand high-quality higher education opportunities across North Carolina’s correctional facilities. Together with the NC Department of Adult Correction, NCPEC strengthens and supports postsecondary pathways that help incarcerated students enroll, persist, earn degrees, and prepare for a successful return to their communities.

Position Summary:

The Director for the North Carolina Prison Education Consortium provides administrative and project oversight to the NCPEC board and staff and any subcommittees that it develops. Under the guidance of the Executive Board, the Director will lead the development and execution of the consortium’s strategic vision, including creating systems and policies for budgeting, fiscal oversight, staff and intern management, meeting coordination, and record keeping. This position is a full-time, grant funded position for three years, contingent on performance, with the opportunity for continued employment depending on future funding. Hiring decisions will be made by the NCPEC Board in conjunction with the selected search committee. The Director will be an employee of NCPEC and will be expected to comply with NCPEC’s personnel policies.
