The Legal Revolution: Prison to Law Pipeline (PLP) Coordinator

Position Description

The Legal Revolution is seeking a coordinator for its Prison to Law Pipeline. The Prison to Law Pipeline (PLP) is democratizing legal education and reshaping the legal discipline to benefit and comprehensively include incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals. Specifically, the PLP facilitates American Bar Association-accredited law degrees and ABA-approved paralegal degrees for incarcerated legal scholars—an effort that is the first of its kind in the United States.

Position Status: Full-Time (1.0 FTE), Hybrid work structure (applicants must be located in the Twin Cities and the surrounding areas and able to commute).

Compensation: Starting annualized salary range between $55,000 - $65,000 with significant growth opportunity as programming and the organization expands. Health, dental, vision, 401k, Sick and Safe, PTO and three paid “wellness breaks” provided to salaried staff as well.

The Legal Revolution is seeking a PLP Coordinator to assist the Pipeline Manager with managing and supporting the various components of the Prison to Law Pipeline. In collaboration with the Executive Director, the Coordinator will support all of the day-to-day needs of the Prison to Law Pipeline to ensure that pipeline scholars are thriving academically. Having expanded the Pipeline scholars in both the juris doctorate and paralegal tracks, our Program Manger is looking to onboard a coordinator who can manage and coordinate the execution of the Pipeline and its varying components—including scholar supports, course content and delivery, and administration, at large.

Who We Are: All Square and The Legal Revolution are nonprofit organizations that invest in those impacted by mass incarceration. Our mission is to heal the harms created by the criminal legal system.

What We Do: We deploy innovative interventions to transform the harms created by the criminal legal system. We carry out our work through our four core pillars: our fellowship program, our craft grilled restaurant and food truck, our Prison to Law Pipeline program and our law firm (collectively known as “The Legal Revolution”).

The Legal Revolution, which is a subsidiary of All Square, is transforming the legal discipline through a series of tailored legal initiatives that center racial equity, wellness and the expertise of those most impacted by the law. What fuels the Revolution, and its Prison to Law Pipeline, is the premise that nobody warrants access to legal education more than someone who has been directly impacted by legal processes and racialized legal outcomes. Though paralegal programs and law libraries are prevalent in most prisons across America, ABA-approved paralegal degrees are not, and, to our 1 knowledge, there has never been an ABA-accredited law degree offered behind bars in the United States. The Legal Revolution is addressing this deficit.
