Preparing for Prison Education Programs: Tips for Administering Financial Aid for Incarcerated Students

In partnership with the Vera Institute of Justice, National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) is excited to announce this upcoming webinar:

Thursday, June 15

3:00 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. ET | 12:00 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. PT

Attendance is free, but you will be required to create a NASFAA account.

This July, incarcerated students enrolled in eligible Prison Education Programs will gain access to Pell Grant eligibility for the first time since 1994. Join us on Thursday, June 15, for a discussion of what financial aid administrators and prison education practitioners can do to ensure they are prepared to effectively support incarcerated learners. Learn tips to successfully administer Pell Grants for incarcerated students and gain an understanding of the existing regulations and guidance impacting prison education programs and the tools available to assist the financial aid and prison education communities when serving this student population.

Financial aid administrators, program directors, and coordinators for Second Chance Pell programs (or the revised experiment) or soon-to-be Prison Education Programs (or PEPs) are invited to attend.

Please note that you do not have to be a NASFAA member or pay to attend this webinar. NASFAA is working to ensure that resources related to prison education programs are free and not restricted to members only. However, to register you will need to create an account with NASFAA, which will be prompted after you click the registration link .
