Join us on October 19 for a conversation on health access for people who are incarcerated and reentering society and how we can better advocate for improved health outcomes for these vulnerable populations.
People in our prisons and jails are more likely to have complex medical challenges such as substance use disorders, mental health problems, diabetes, HIV, and other conditions. However, healthcare can be difficult to access in the carceral setting and when it is available, is often low-quality or confusing for patients to navigate. In this conversation, we are pleased to be joined by the Legal Action Center and Correctional Association of New York as they share how they are leading efforts to monitor and improve healthcare options for incarcerated people and how we can all better advocate for improved health outcomes for these vulnerable populations.
