Compensation:
Range: $110,900 - $158,300 USD. The base salary for this position will vary based on place of residence and job-related criteria including relevant skills, qualifications and experience, among other factors.
Position Description
CPE is seeking a Senior Product Strategist responsible for identifying market opportunities, assessing product performance in collaboration with the Evaluations team and product leads, and developing ideas for new product initiatives and deliverables that align with CPE's long-term strategic vision. This role is critical in connecting short-term tactics to long-term visions, streamlining the product development process, and creating a competitive advantage by facilitating the development of unique products (e.g., Justice Navigator) that will meaningfully impact the racial justice landscape.
The Senior Product Strategist will work at the intersection of organizational strategy, technology, and user experience to guide the creation and evolution of products and partnerships. They will ensure that products meet the organization's diverse core audience needs and solve complex problems. Additionally, they will partner with VPs (team leads) to provide fresh perspectives on product development and offer new ideas.
Innovative thinking is particularly valuable in this role, especially in a crowded and fast-moving ecosystem. The Senior Product Strategist will develop deep insights into our core audiences, contribute to high-impact initiatives, and influence Executive Leadership Team (ELT) decisions.
Reporting to the Vice President of Program Management, the Senior Product Strategist will collaborate extensively with external stakeholders (e.g., community leaders, LEAs) and team leads throughout the organization to support their current and concept product strategies toward social justice impact. Ultimately, this role will directly impact the organization's future product output and service offerings.
Responsibilities
- Lead efforts, in collaboration with external stakeholders and internal teams, to develop a vision and strategy for new product offerings that align with CPE’s goals and mission
- Utilize critical and strategic thinking to navigate ambiguity and identify innovative solutions with team leads for organizational challenges that meet audience needs
- Collaborate with team leads and ELT to obtain product approvals and effectively communicate product strategy to stakeholders
- Lead ideation exercises to facilitate creative problem-solving and establish the development and direction of products and platforms
- Collaborate with the Evaluation team to measure the impact and success of products post-launch to inform further improvements
- Evaluate product mix, roadmap requests, and competitive positioning in collaboration with team leads
- Support team leads in shaping CPE products for effective upstream and downstream execution
- Develop and maintain an overview of product releases, prototype testing, and engineering milestones in collaboration with team leads
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field; Advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years direct experience in Strategy Consulting, Corporate/Product Strategy, Public Sector or Non-profit
- Experience in conducting comprehensive user research and collaborating with diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders to accurately identify and assess audience needs, and evaluate the impact of products post-launch
- Proven track record of successfully developing ideas and launching products, programs, and/or services in previous roles (with a focus on social good)
- Strong commitment to promoting public safety and advocating for social and racial justice causes
- Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate a long-term vision across the organization
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as presentation skills in a remote-first matrixed organization
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to act as a self-starter and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
