Cornell University: Outreach and Information Services Librarian

Cornell University is seeking an Outreach and Information Services Librarian to support incarcerated college students; we are looking for someone who will collaborate within and outside of Cornell University to improve academic scholarship opportunities of incarcerated students. This is an exciting opportunity to join Cornell’s Olin & Uris Libraries, in collaboration with the Cornell Prison Education Program, at a pivotal moment of growth in Cornell's in-prison college program. Within the library’s innovative and collaborative culture, the selected candidate will have a driver's seat role in developing information services for incarcerated students in prisons near the Ithaca Campus of Cornell University.

Key Opportunities:

  • Receive individualized mentorship in outreach and information services and higher education in prison (HEIP) specifically to support your career goals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop long-term solutions in supporting non-traditional learners at Cornell University.
  • Acquire practical hands-on experience with the use of information resources, instructional pedagogy, and library delivery systems while supporting the scholarship and learning of incarcerated students on-site in the prisons.
  • Contribute to building a body of knowledge at the intersection of high education in prison, academic libraries and learning pedagogies.
  • Support for professional development inside and outside of the CUL community.
