The Des Moines Area Community College seeks and Executive Director of Higher Education in Prison and Adult Education and Literacy for the Justice Impacted Communities for their prison education program at the Newton Correctional Facility ( NCF ), Iowa Correctional Institution for Women ( ICIW ) and Polk County Jail and for DMACC’s adult education services.

This position will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluation of all educational activities connected to programs for the Justice Impacted Communities [Newton Correctional Facility ( NCF ), Iowa Correctional Institution for Women ( ICIW ) and Polk County Jail] and for DMACC’s adult education services [high school completion, English Language Learning, and Literacy programs]. The Executive Director will work in cooperation with partners including the Department of Education, Iowa Workforce Development, and Iowa Prison Industries to create and manage growing educational programs, apprenticeships, and workforce training programs for clients in these areas.
