Ithaka S+R: Senior Analyst

Ithaka S+R is seeking a Senior Analyst within the Library and Scholarly Communications program. This position will work with a variety of colleagues, leaders, and researchers, managing their inputs and helping deliver projects on time and under budget. The growing team offers unique opportunities for a candidates research skills and project management talent to play a vital role in helping the academic and cultural communities serve the public good and navigate economic, technological, and demographic change.

Team members in the Library and Scholarly Communication program conduct and publish major research projects and consult with academic libraries, scholarly publishers, learned societies, and museums. Ithaka helps these organizations better support scholarship, instruction, and student success by empowering them to gather and to utilize evidence that supports good strategic decision-making about direction and service offerings.

Applications from people who have been impacted by the criminal-legal system are highly encouraged. Any combination of professional experience, volunteer work, coursework, and other transferable skills may be applied toward these qualifications.

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in a field that requires exceptional writing and qualitative analysis skills.
  • Excellent social science research skills and demonstrated experience organizing and carrying out research projects. Experience with mixed methods research methodologies preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in leading complex projects, including supervising and coordinating the work of others in the context of those projects.
  • Interest in and understanding of the missions of expanding access to higher education, racial justice, and/or ending mass incarceration.
  • Demonstrated understanding and expertise of major issues related to information and technology access in educational contexts.
  • Ability to translate complex concepts and research data into compelling, accessible, and well-written reports and engaging presentations.
  • Ability to navigate complex relationships and stakeholder interests and make sense of ambiguity.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage your own work, perform under pressure, and meet deadlines, while ensuring acute attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in our open, collaborative, and team-oriented culture.
