Restorative Justice Initiative at Penn State University: Prison Education Program Manager

The Restorative Justice Initiative (RJI) in the College of Education at Penn State University is hiring! RJI is moving quickly to hire a new Prison Education Program Manager (PEP Manager) to begin in late spring or summer 2022. The PEP Manager will oversee daily operations and assist in the development of the Initiative’s growing Prison Education Program. While relocation to State College, PA will eventually be necessary, there is flexibility to begin the position remotely. Special consideration will be given to formerly incarcerated applicants.   RJI is creating the new position of PEP Manager to facilitate its next phase of program growth on the heels of receiving the JFF and Ascendium Ready for Pell Grant. Currently, Penn State faculty and graduate students teach non-credit bearing courses in a number of jails and prisons in the commonwealth, and RJI is in the beginning stages of creating a collaborative model for a full-fledged higher education in prison program through partnerships with other educational institutions. The PEP Manager will be instrumental in building on these partnerships, executing RJI’s five-year plan outlined in the grant, and expanding RJI’s infrastructure, capacity, and reach to provide credit-bearing college courses to incarcerated students across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
