Rehabilitation Through the Arts: Manager of Reentry and Transitional Planning

This is a unique and exciting time to join the organization, as RTA builds on the successful launch of RM to establish it in facilities and communities in NYS and to develop the roadmap for expansion within the state and then nationally. This new role, the Manager of Reentry and Transitional Programming, reporting to the Director of Programs and Operations, is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial and experienced program professional. You will play a pivotal role replicating our successful reentry program model, ensuring its effective implementation in new locations.

Your responsibilities will include working with trainers and facilitators to implement the curricula, conducting research to determine impact and opportunities for revision, developing expansion strategies, coordinating, and deepening partnerships and providing ongoing support to site teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, a deep understanding of reentry services and a passion for making a positive impact on individuals transitioning from incarceration.

Salary

$50,000 - $60,000

Essential Job Functions

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of RM in its implementation both inside carceral facilities and in transitional venues.
  • Collaborate with program consultants on the design of the components, curriculum, and service delivery.
  • Oversee the training programs and resources to new site teams, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to implement the program effectively.
  • Market and raise awareness about RM in the reentry field and to potential partners.
  • Reach out to potential delivery and hosting partners and present RM to capture interest and initiate collaborations.
  • Cultivate relationships, negotiate partnerships, and collaborate on the implementation of the reentry services
  • Establish relationships with local DOCCS staff and other stakeholders where the programs are implemented.
  • Manage the auditing of program sessions and monitor delivery of services to ensure consistency and quality and continued iterative improvement.
  • Manage researcher initiatives to conduct evaluations and develop reporting against key outcomes
  • Ensure alignment and integration with other RTA programmatic initiatives.
  • With the leadership of RTA, develop the business plan for continued sustainability and expansion, and help fundraise.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated experience (3-5 years) in project management and program expansion within the nonprofit sector, with a specific focus on reentry services.
  • Comprehensive understanding of reentry programs and the unique challenges faced by individuals transitioning from incarceration.
  • Proven track record in fostering partnerships and the ability to collaborate effectively with community organizations and service providers.
  • Possess an innovative mindset, exhibit resourcefulness and enthusiasm for developing new initiatives, while contributing to the growth of a nationally recognized organization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal capabilities, able to build strong relationships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Extraordinary organizational and project management skills, adapt a managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software.
  • Demonstrated history of successfully marketing and launching new programs and projects.
  • Fundraising experience a plus.
  • Passion for social justice, equity, and a commitment to supporting individuals in their successful reentry journey.
  • Lived experience with the criminal justice system is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to be cleared to volunteer in the NYS Department of Corrections & Community Supervision (DOCCS) required.
