The Alliance for Higher Education in Prison: Operations and Development Manager

The Alliance for HigherEducation in Prison (the Alliance) is a national network working to support the growing field of higher education in prison. The Alliance believes that all people, including those who are currently or formerly incarcerated, should have access to quality higher education. The Alliance is working to advance the field of higher education in prison by creating collaboration and co-learning opportunities for the higher education in prison community, producing reliable data and research, and communicating the need, importance, and value of quality and equitable higher education in prison.

The Operations and Development Manager will work in close collaboration with the Alliance’s Executive Director, project partners, and consultants to support the day-to-day operations and fundraising efforts of the Alliance. The Operations and Development Manager will also work in close coordination with Community Partners, the Alliance’s fiscal sponsor, to manage contracts, human resources, and finance systems. This position serves the function of developing and implementing internal management systems that will increase the effectiveness of the network and improve our ability to expand programming. This position also supports the organization’s fundraising activities including (but not limited to): donor (individual and foundation) prospecting, donor database management, and grant writing, submission, and reporting. Applicants should be experienced working within a non-profit/community-based organization. Additionally, applicants should be creative, thoughtful, and collaborative, and be in strong alignment with the social, racial and education equity mission of the Alliance.

The Alliance’s main office location is in Denver, CO. This position is in the office 4 days a week and 1 day remote.
