The Chris Wilson Foundation: Regional Program Manager

The Regional Program Manager will be responsible for identifying and collaborating with institutions across the state of Maryland to implement the Chris Wilson Foundation’s flagship program “The Master Plan” for underserved, incarcerated, and formerly incarcerated communities throughout Maryland. This includes developing relationships with state-run correctional and detention facilities administration and staff, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and state-run programs that create reentry services for returning citizens. The Regional Program Manager will also manage contracts with institutions and facilities in Maryland to create a sustainable revenue stream for the program and identify and manage contracts with under-funded institutions and facilities across Maryland to provide free programming options for their participants.The Regional Program Manager will work closely with the Program Development Team to develop future versions of the program for other populations based on survey data and needs assessments from Maryland partner facilities. Additionally, the Regional Program Manager will directly manage a team of 6-10 formerly incarcerated facilitators who lead weekly programming and provide direct supervision and support to these individuals as they continue their own reentry journeys.

This position is primarily remote, with in-person events, training, and meetings in-person. Having a personal car is recommended for travel to and from correctional facilities.

The Regional Program Manager position offers a competitive starting salary of $65-$80K per year with opportunities for growth and advancement within the organization. Responsibilities:

Programs
  • Manage and coordinate the Maryland based programs for the organization
  • Design and implement new versions of the program that support the organization’s mission, vision, and goals
  • Monitor program operations for quality, efficiency, and effectiveness
  • Organize program information and measure the performance of programs by identifying and tracking KPIs
  • Strengthen program quality by developing short and long term outcomes
  • Serve as a liaison between the organization and program participants, ensuring effective communication and addressing their needs and concerns
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of program policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Conduct research and analysis on program-related topics to support informed decision-making and program enhancements
  • Utilize various technologies and software applications to streamline program operation sand enhance efficiency
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with utmost professionalism and discretion
Fundraising/Development:
  • Work with other leadership staff to implement fundraising and development strategy to identify potential donors or funding sources and conduct outreach initiatives
  • Collaborate with partners on events, programming, and publicity
  • Assist in grant applications and proposals
  • Collaborate on business engagement and strategic partnership initiatives

Staff/Personnel Management:
  • Manage subordinate staff including interns, volunteers, and program staff
  • Report to the Executive Director and Program Director (NY)
  • Train staff for program facilitation
  • Advise the board on strategic planning and fundraising as it relates to programs

Community Outreach:
  • Identify and collaborate with community leaders and community-based organizations
  • Create and manage events for the Baltimore community focused on supporting criminal justice reform and reentry support for facilitators and program participants
  • Identify individuals and communities who might be positively impacted by the MasterPlan Book and Workbook and donate bulk shipments to them

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • At least 1 year of program management experience
  • Experience working with justice-impacted communities a plus
  • Experience managing staff and volunteers
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in using technology and software applications, including MS Office Suite(Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite and database management systems(Salesforce, Donorbox).
