The Petey Greene Program (NY): Division Manager

The Division Manager will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality tutoring services for incarcerated and formerly incarcerated students in the New York City area. This includes managing several programmatic and university partnerships as well as supervising two Volunteer Engagement Coordinators (both AmeriCorps positions). This position reports directly to the New York Regional Manager.

In the programmatic aspects of the role, the Division Manager will collaborate and coordinate with multiple types of partners, including higher education partners, youth-focused diversionary and reentry service providers, as well as prisons and jails. The Division Manager is a hands-on role working with students and tutors. The Division Manager is responsible for determining the tutoring needs of program partners and participating students, developing semester program plans and collaboration agreements, and ensuring tutors and students are matched appropriately. The position is also tasked with monitoring the quality and evaluation of the tutoring services provided, and troubleshooting issues of attendance, engagement, or academic progress in collaboration with program partners, PGP staff, tutors, or students.

In supervisory responsibilities, the Division Manager will oversee and support two early-career Volunteer Engagement Coordinators in their work to recruit, train, track, and support approximately 20 volunteers each. The Division Manager will also be responsible for completing any supervisory expectations (training, reporting, etc.) as required by AmeriCorps.

The role is hybrid, with a combination of work-from-home days, meeting days in the community or at partner sites, and 1-2 in-office days per week at a coworking space in New York City. Expectations may be adjusted by the Regional Manager in New York, dependent on programmatic or team needs.
