Call for Submissions | Berkeley Journal of Criminal Law (Fall 2026 issue)

The Berkeley Journal of Criminal Law (“BJCL”) is currently accepting submissions for the Fall 2026 issue. As one of the preeminent criminal law journals in the nation, BJCL publishes work covering a broad range of topics in both substantive and procedural criminal law. The journal seeks to provide a space for scholarship that advances new ways of thinking about the criminal legal system. We are particularly interested in interdisciplinary perspectives on criminal law and on pieces that address criminal justice reform.

Please see below for our general submission requirements forarticles:

  • Submissions must be related to some aspect of criminal law.
  • Submissions must be novel and original work.
  • Articles must comply with Bluebook citation format for law journal articles.

Submissions may submitted via Scholastica OR emailed in Word format to bjclsubmissions@berkeley.edu.
