
John Rodriguez joins the Alliance with nearly a decade of experience working with communities impacted by incarceration. His introduction to this work started on campus where he co-led student organizing efforts to establish the Bruin Underground Scholars at UCLA. He later expanded the reentry department as Associate Director of Reentry at St. John’s Community Health. John also served as Program Coordinator for the Prison Arts Collective, increasing art-based programming across California prisons.
Over time, John transitioned his primary focus toward strategic storytelling, utilizing narrative as a powerful tool to bring visibility to the lived experiences of individuals impacted by incarceration.
As Digital Communications Coordinator, John leads efforts in spotlighting the experiences of system-impacted scholars. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
